After the successful launch of the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport, Manthey-Racing is today presenting the Porsche GT4 Clubsport MR at the Total 24 Hours of Spa. The vehicle, based on a Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport, has been fitted out with a comprehensive Upgrade Kit developed by Manthey-Racing. With the upgrade, the vehicle qualifies as an SRO-homologised GT4 racing car, thereby allowing it to participate in national and international races in the GT4 category.
GT4 race series are internationally gaining in popularity. They provide for high quality, nail biting motorsports while simultaneously offering an attractive price-performance ratio. With the newly developed Porsche GT4 Clubsport MR, Manthey-Racing positions ambitious drivers and teams to participate in national and international SRO GT4 races.
The technical highlights of the Upgrade Package include lightweight elements such as carbon fiber doors, carbon fiber front bonnet, a polycarbonate windscreen and an optional light weight battery which reduces the vehicle weight by around 40kg. The 2-way adjustable race suspension kit with linear bearing and the sway bar with blade adjustment further improve driving dynamics. Performance optimisation is rounded off with a rear wing larger than that of the basic vehicle, combined with extended wing brackets.
Besides the complete vehicle, an Upgrade Kit is also to be offered for existing Cayman GT4 Clubsport cars. It will be distributed by Manthey-Racing or, for the American market, by Porsche Motorsport North America.
“This is another important milestone in Manthey-Racing’s history,” says Manthey-Racing General Manager Nicolas Raeder. “With the Porsche GT4 Clubsport MR, and following the Cayman GT4 Trophy/Porsche Sports Cup Kit, we are now already offering the second options package on the basis of the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport racing car, and giving Porsche clients the opportunity to take part in the growing class of SRO GT4 racing.”
