The past weekend has been really stunning for Wolf Racing Cars, as the second place in the prestigious 24 Hours of Zolder awarded Ivan Bellarosa and the Wolf GB08 run by the works team Avelon Formula with the Belcar Trophy.

The Italian driver, that shared the wheel of the car with Guglielmo Belotti (ITA) and Christophe Geoffroy (NED) secured the title in an amazing season that saw him taking the pole position in all the rounds of the series, included that in Zolder, and claiming two wins and a second place that did not leave any room for the rivals.

In Zolder, despite the difficult weather conditions, the Wolf GB08 of team Avelon Formula started once again from the pole position. The number 45 crew managed to get the most of the situation in the heat of the start, keeping the lead until a problem to the gearbox seventeenth hours into the race forced the lineup to lose about 29 laps. The stunning comeback and the final second place showcased the technical value of car and team, that got close to end the season with full haul dominating also the class Prototypes. The new champions also posted the fastest lap of the race in 1:32.833, which was faster than any other lap time by quite some margin.

This result was obtained in front of 25 thousand spectators that gathered at the historic Belgian circuit to see one of the most appreciated races of the season and was rounded up by the fourth place obtained by De Knap-Van Splunteren-Cools-Breukers on the number 25 Wolf GB08.

Giovanni Bellarosa (Wolf Racing Cars, General Manager):
“We end this series with a really positive outcome thanks to victory of the title that was our target. The team has been perfect also in this occasion and we led the race for more than 17 hours, but due to the problem to the gearbox the second place was the best we could get. Ivan, Guglielmo and Christophe have been great, especially in a tough race like the 24 Hours of Zolder where pitfalls are always around the corner. Our sporting season has not ended yet, but this title gives us the motivation to achieve the other objectives we set ahead of ourselves”.
