V8 Racing, which claimed the SuperGT title last year, is stepping up its effort for the 2014 campaign. The Dutch squad will remain faithful to the impressive Corvettes C6R and is entering three top driver line-ups. The duo composed of Nicky Pastorelli and Miguel Ramos, who came in as runner-ups in the 2013 Drivers’ championship, will again be, of course, on the starting line, while Diederick Sijthoff is joined by Britain’s Archie Hamilton, also a familiar face in the GT Open, who will make his debut at the wheel of a Vette. A third car is entered for Dennis Retera, already seen in the V8 Racing camp, who will be joined by Belgium’s GT raising star Dylan Derdaele (21). Plans for the team’s fourth car will be announced in due course.
Nicky Pastorelli, team principal and driver of the Schiedam-based outfit who recently took an excellent fifth in the 24 Hours of Dubai, declared: “We are thrilled about our 2014 programme in the GT Open and are definitely stepping up our game with the arrival of drivers such as Hamilton, Derdaele and Retera, who will bring talent and speed. We are anxious to be fighting again on the track!”
