The fifth round of the Blancpain Endurance Series takes place this weekend on 19th and 20th in the town of Nürburg, Germany. The last race of the Endurance championship will be realized at Nürburgring Circuit, which received some several kinds of races, like local events and the F-1. The circuit is remembered for the severe accident that Nick Lauda suffered in the European Grand Prix in 1976, when his car caught fire, and he was trapped in the wreckage for several minutes. The BMW Team Brasil is optimistic for this race, which is the last of Endurance in the 2015 season.
The relatively good result in 24h of SPA (where the Brazilian team finishes in 13th overall and seventh in the Pro Cup) keeps the team – that goes with maximum strength with both cars BMW Z4 – motivated for the final round. Even with three years competing in Europe, only this year the team made the Endurance Championship. It was a year of learning and experience to the challenges ahead of the team. The main objective of the Brazilian squad is close the calendar with good results.

“I don’t know the racetrack, but I’m working on the simulator and I believe we will have a rough weekend , but I trust the team to finish the season positively. The championship was not so good what we expected, but it’s all part of a learning experience, especially because it’s a year of team debut in Endurance Series.”
Sérgio Jimenez, BMW Z4 #0
“I’ve never been on the racetrack but I’ll train a bit on the simulator to try to absorb as much as possible of the track to get a good result. My expectation is positive. As the first year of the team in Endurance Championship, I believe that we evolved from the very first round (in Monza) until the 24h of SPA and I and the team want to develop further at the Nürburgring”.
Felipe Fraga, BMW Z4 #0
“My expectation is good. I really like the racetrack, since I’ve been there in championship by formula and it’s always good to race there. Unfortunately it is the last round of the season. I believe the team’s performance for a first time in Endurance Series was good. We had a disadvantage in some circuits because the BMW Z4 has less powerful, in the Endurance championship. But the team learned so much. In SPA, which is a big championship race, despite some problems in the car, we can go very well and finished seventh (in ProCup category). But it was a learning year”.
Valdeno Brito, BMW Z4 #77
“As the last round, my expectation is try our best result, which in Endurance was still missing. I’m rooting for the good performance of the car. We will fight and do our best, but no predictions of what might happen. I believe it will be a final interesting weekend for all drivers and team. For the first year in Endurance championship, I believe that was a year of much learning. “
Átila Abreu, BMW Z4 #77
“My expectation is for the last stage of Endurance is good. Already I know the racetrack. I won it in the preliminary of Formula 1, and I like the track. So I hope to do a good race and get good results. This racetrack has beneficial points and the others not so much for the BMW Z4 model. It has a climb that can us harm a little, because of the low power, so is not possible to make a prediction, but just the fact of having a chance for get good result, among the top ten former, us motivate. The team is to be congratulated, because in Endurance championships, it is necessary patience and good will of the car, and I think everyone did very well. I believe a good result now would be how to close with a flourish this new stage of BMW Team Brasil.”
Matheus Stumpf, BMW Z4 #77
“In BMW Team Brasil I´m feeling at home, because I treat all team as friends, and of course I’m very happy to help the team in this final round of the Endurance Series. I never raced at the Nürburgring, will be a new circuit for me, but I believe for what already I trained in simulator, I’ll be competitive and I hope to give enough work to the other teams. I am very looking forward to this round, because this year I didn’t make many races, so it’ll be special to me”.
