Ginetta factory outfit, Team LNT are poised for a return to the British GT paddock in 2015, after confirming the first of a multi-car entry into the series with driver line-up Mike Simpson and Steve Tandy.
Team LNT took a hiatus from British GT in 2014 to compete in the V de V championship, where the factory team secured five of the available seven pole positions and a race victory, with Tandy joining the driver line up at Estoril and Magny Cours.
Lawrence Tomlinson, Chairman of Ginetta Cars said; “It’s great to have Team LNT back on the British GT grid following a strong year in V de V. Steve was a great asset to the team at Estoril and Magny Cours and he has a great co-pilot in Mike Simpson. The Ginetta G55 GT3 car is now well proven on the national and international stages – it is fantastic having another UK designed and built car in the British GT.”
Team LNT enjoyed their debut with Tandy during a one-off British GT appearance during the Donington Park finale earlier this year after he switched from the Bentley Continental GT3 following a withdrawal by the team.
Tandy commented; “I am very excited to be part of the continuing Ginetta journey, our three prior outings have shown what potential there is in the car and it’s a pleasure to work with Lawrence, Mike and the team. Allied to the Ginetta ambitions with the Ginetta-Juno in LMP3, 2015 is going to be exciting and my first opportunity to be in a works team eliminating all the uncertainties surrounding customer set ups.”
The Ginetta G55 GT3 car offers natural progression from the single-make Ginetta Championships and the driving seat of the multi-disciplined Ginetta G40 or Ginetta G55 GT4 car, into a whole new level of GT racing and aligns itself perfectly alongside the newly announced Ginetta-Juno LMP3 car atop the Ginetta motorsport career ladder.
