Five drivers – Tomas Erdelyi (SK), Robert Senkyr (CZ), Markus Palttala (FIN), Lennart Marioneck (D) and Ralf Oeverhaus (D) on Z4 GT3 took in the team’s first 12 hours race , Epilog 12h race in Brno, great seventh place in overall classification.

“Epilog is every year a final race of the season for us. It used to be always an 6 hours race and Senkyr Motorsport has never missed one in its 12 years history.

This year was different to be part of the 24H Series. Thanks to that lot of fast cars and great drivers and teams came to race in the very first 12h race in Brno. More than fifty cars were on the grid at the end and that’s why our seventh place overall is a very good finish,” said Robert Senkyr.

“We were deciding quite a long time if we could start in Epilog. We had to count with a lot of factors like drivers crew, economy or car wear. It was very close, only three days,  from our last ADAC GT masters race at Hockenheim also.

I’m happy to say that we managed all of that even with a crash in Friday’s qualification. Tomas had a spin into the barriers and when we got our car in the pits we didn’t even know if we could continue in the race weekend,” added Robert Senkyr.

But the mechanics of the Czech team were able to fix everything on the car changing the whole front part and part of the rear during two hours so the car was able to go out on track during the mandatory night qualification.

“It was really great what boys did. They deserve the praise. Car was really good in the night practice and all drivers were really disciplined after that,” said team boss Senkyr.

During the 12 hours race the white BMW Z4 GT3 was without any small problem able to make 315 laps. It made 1700 kilometres what was only a little bit less than this year’s ADAC GT Masters season.

What drivers said:

Markus Palttala: “I like Brno very much. I was here only a few times so I’m really glad that I could race here again. We had really well prepared car and everything was  great. I was really happy to race in these conditions. Thanks all the team for their perfect job especially after the Friday’s crash.”

Tomáš Erdélyi: “Epilog was the first big endurance race for me. The atmosphere was great and I’m really happy to be part of this great event. I’m sorry for the crash which was big complication for the team but boys were perfect and I want to thank them.”

Lennart Marioneck: “It was great final race for this season. I think we showed great team spirit and I’m happy with the seventh place. Thanks to Robert and whole team for the possibility to start in this big race.”

Ralf Oeverhaus: “Robert Senkyr’s team is very professional. Everybody knows what to do in every moment and thanks to that we could managed to get such a good finish. It was really great experience for me.”
