1,000 kilometres with maximum performance into the night – that is the duty at hand for ROWE RACING this weekend. The team from Worms in Germany will be competing in the third round of the BES at Circuit Paul Ricard. The endurance race marks the competition debut for ROWE RACING at the circuit near the village of Le Castellet in the south of France. At the same time, it is the team’s final test in race conditions for the Spa 24-hour race.
Team principal Hans-Peter Naundorf is very happy with the performance shown so far and wants to keep on attacking: “We have established ourselves well in the BES. In the first two races, we were able to score good results and our cars were the fastest SLS AMG GT3s in the field on both occasions. After Silverstone, we will now be racing for the first time at the Paul Ricard circuit, but we know the track very well from numerous test sessions. I reckon that the circuit suits us and even more so for the SLS. Our goal is a top five result.”
At Le Castellet, Nico Bastian (GER), Stef Dusseldorp (NED) and Daniel Juncadella (ESP) will be racing the number #99 SLS AMG GT3. The sister car with starting number #98 has a new sponsor for the third BES round: I.G.A.T. AG is a manufacturer of lubricants, radiator anti-freeze and brake fluids, based in Mainz. Indy Dontje (NED), Thomas Jäger (GER) and Nicolai Sylvest (DEN) will be sharing driving duties in the number #98 I.G.A.T. gullwing.
Team principal Naundorf also intends to use the race with a distance of 1,000 kilometres as a way to prepare for the Spa 24 Hours, particularly as far as the fine-tuning for driving at night is concerned. In total, 63 cars in three classes will be on the grid at Circuit Paul Ricard. With its two SLS AMG GT3s, ROWE RACING is competing in the strongest category, the PRO CUP.
Paul Ricard time schedule
