“A strong season deserves an equally strong conclusion. Therefore, we have quite some ambitions coming to the Hockenheimring,” says ROWE RACING’s team principal, Hans-Peter Naundorf prior to the final ADAC GT Masters weekend at the Hockenheimring. From 3 till 5 October, 2014, the circuit in the German state of Baden with its long history will serve as the venue for the two final races of the season. For the team from nearby Worms, Jaime Alguersuari (Spain) and Nico Bastian (Germany) will drive the SLS AMG GT3 #22. Maro Engel (Monaco) and Jan Seyffarth will be racing the #23 sister car.
With a total of 15 top ten results, the ROWE RACING team can already look back upon a very successful debut season in the ADAC GT Masters. Hans-Peter Naundorf: “The only thing still missing to make the season perfect for us is a podium finish. That would not only be the icing on the cake, but also a well-deserved way to conclude our maiden season. However, it will be twice as difficult to achieve this in the season finale: all the teams still want to present themselves in the best possible way and do their utmost, and we are no exception!”
Next to a podium finish, scoring more points is also among the goals the team has set itself for the season finale. Thus, Jan Seyffarth and Maro Engel have planned to move up into the top ten of the final drivers’ standings at the Hockenheimring. Currently, the duo is in eleventh place at 69 points, only four points down on tenth position. Jaime Alguersuari and Nico Bastian, who only came to join the series from the third season round onwards, are currently placed 26th with 22 points. In the teams’ standings, ROWE RACING is currently in seventh place and still can move up into the top six with a strong showing in the finale.
