Anticipation, tension and gratefulness – ROWE RACING team principal Hans-Peter Naundorf uses these three words to describe his feelings prior to the ADAC GT Masters premiere. From April 25 till 27, 2014, the team with headquarters in Worms, Germany, has its maiden outing in the super sports car league in the etropolis Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. Former DTM driver Maro Engel (Monaco) and three times’ ADAC GT Masters race winner Jan Seyffarth (Germany) will be racing the team’s SLS AMG GT3 throughout the season.
“We are happy that the action finally starts. I am very happy with our preparations. Given the fact that we only have been competing in endurance racing so far, ADAC GT Masters is a new sporting challenge for us. It will be interesting to see where we stand during the first couple of races. With Maro and Jan as our drivers and with the support from our experienced team, we have the best basis to be competitive in this hotly-contested series pretty soon,” Hans-Peter Naundorf comments.
Prior to its maiden ADAC GT Masters season, Naundorf’s crew had to do more work on the gullwing than the team principal would have liked. Therefore, he is all the more grateful to his crew. “We had some serious damage to our cars, but everyone has put in a massive effort in order to have at least one car prepared for the season opener. This shows that everyone at ROWE RACING is 100 percent committed to the ADAC GT Masters project. That is a great support for which I am very grateful.”
In the 16 races of the 2014 ADAC GT Masters, ROWE RACING is racing against 13 other teams. In total, 25 super sports cars from eight manufacturers will be on the grid. At Oschersleben – the first of eight venues – there will be two races.
