The countdown for the world’s toughest race is running. “Tension is rising, the highlight of our season beckons. Basically, we are working one year for these 24 hours,” ROWE RACING’s team principal Hans-Peter Naundorf says prior to the Nürburgring 24-hour race. To build on last year’s successful achievement – third and fourth place – ROWE RACING has entered two quartets of drivers, highly motivated to take on the ‘Green Hell’. From 19 till 22 June, the SLS AMG GT3 with starting number 22 will be raced by Nico Bastian (Germany), Maro Engel (Monaco), Christian Hohenadel (Germany) and Michael Zehe (Germany). The sister car, the team’s number 23 entry, will be on track with drivers Richard Göranson (Sweden), Klaus Graf, Thomas Jäger and Jan Seyffarth (all Germany).

“All the team members, drivers and mechanics, are already eagerly looking forward to the 24-hour race,” ROWE RACING’s team principal Hans-Peter Naundorf says. “In the past few years, we have always managed to achieve a top performance here. Unfortunately, however, we never succeeded in winning this race. That is something we want to change this year. When everything comes together and the technical part is right, too, I am certain that we are among the front-runners again.”

Next to ROWE RACING’s pair of gullwings, there will be another 173 cars on the grid for the 42nd running of the ADAC Zurich 24h race. The cars are competing in various classes; ROWE RACING’s two SLS AMG GT3s are in the fastest category, SP9 GT3.

The time schedule for the event starts on Thursday (19 June) with a free practice session (14.45-16.45 hrs) and first qualifying (18.45-23.00 hrs). Second qualifying follows on Friday (20 June, 10.15-12.15 hrs) with the top 30 qualifying session late on Friday afternoon (17.10-17.50 hrs). The race starts on Saturday (21 June) at 16.00 hrs, the finish is 24 hours later on Sunday (22 June).
