With the one day official pre-event test completed in the build up to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Ram Racing is ready for its first participation in the 82nd edition of the world’s most prestigious sports car event.
The day started slowly, with the team conducting a number of short runs on the famous 8.468 mile circuit before completing a thorough systems check to ensure both the cars were running reliably. After eight hours of testing, the team achieved all its objectives and set some very competitive times.
Rookies Alvaro Parente and Federico Leo completed their regulated minimum 10 laps at the wheel of the No.52 LMGTE Pro Ferrari Italia and are now ready for the main event which gets underway on Saturday 14th June.
Following the day’s running, Dan Shufflebottom, CEO of Ram Racing said, “Today was all about testing set-up. It was a good day; we learned quite a lot and improved a few things. We spent the majority of the day making adjustments in order to fully understand the effects of change on the car. We’ve made progress with both cars and achieved a better understanding of our set-up so I think we’ll be in good shape in France in two weeks time. We are really encouraged by our pace and I definitely feel that we can be competitive come the race.”
Ram Racing returns to France next weekend for official pre-race Administrative and Technical Checks, scheduled for the British team on Sunday 8th June, which take place in the centre of Le Mans in the Place de la Republique.
