You have been wondering about the Race to 24. You have been curious to know what it means, what it is all about. Now the time has come to find out, and to understand how passion and competition can get together.
The original plan of Race to 24 was to take the drivers all around the world, over twelve weeks.
In racing, circumstances do change!
The last three weeks have been a true roller coaster…. and Race to 24 has had to adapt to new situations. Scene One of the Race to 24 film will take you on that roller coaster ride… and show what it takes, just to get to the grid.
Following a successful partnership with Kairos Technologies, Benoît Morand, Team SARD Morand team manager, will be lining up two cars in the WEC championship, one of them running under the Swiss flag Team SARD Morand Morgan EVO Sard n°43, the second one under the Japanese colours of Team SARD Morand Morgan EVO Sard n°39.
The driver line up of six drivers has been announced during the Prologue, official WEC test session which is taking place on the circuit Paul Ricard in the South of France (see official teams website for additional information www.teamsardmorand.com). Tristan Vautier has signed for the two first races of the 2015 season. After Spa, his seat is being kept for the one of the Race to 24 drivers, whose first WEC race will be the most famous endurance race Les 24 Heures du Mans in June.
This driver will keep his/her seat until the end of the WEC season.
The Race to 24h program will follow these 24 drivers from now up until Le Mans 24 Hours, and take you behind the scenes to discover what it takes to be a driver in an LMP2 at the famous endurance race. There are no losers, every driver will benefit from this experience.
A the heart of the Race To 24 project is a film composed of nine episodes, to be released on a regular basis on www.raceto24.com, starting April 12th.
On his quest to chose the driver, Benoit will be joined by a number of influencers from the racing world that will help him make the final decision, they will be presented in due course.
Of course driving is necessary to race at Le Mans, but just being fast on the track is not enough…
In the run up to Scene One, we will be asking motorsport fans and general public, what they think it takes to be an endurance driver. Interacting with Race to 24 is part of the story, as online content will support the making of the film throughout the journey to Le Mans.
Through the film, extra content on line and social media over the next twelve weeks, YOU the media, YOU the fans, YOU the friends of the drivers, YOU the team members will get to know the drivers, discover parts of their personalities, see if they have all it takes to drive at Le Mans…
From today online, Race to24 begins! You can discover more about the 24 selected drivers, their profiles, interact with them and begin the journey with us at www.raceto24.com.
