Building upon its legendary 2015 debut, the Prestige Performance Race Team announced today its plans to compete with three cars in the 2016 North American Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series. Driver lineups for the classes will be announced within the next thirty days.
Under the Prestige Performance Livery, the team will again partner with Wayne Taylor Racing. The series has quickly become one of the top GT programs in Europe, North America and Asia with dedicated TV coverage, world class hospitality, and a mix of top professional and gentlemen drivers alike competing in different classes. Prestige Performance will run Lamborghini Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeos in each of the Pro, Pro-Am, and Amateur categories offered under the North American Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Series banner.
In 2015, the Prestige Performance Race Team achieved incredible success during its inaugural season in the North American Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Series ending second in the 2015 Driver Points Standings in the Pro Category and third in points in both the 2015 Team and Dealer Standings. Highlights of the 2015 season include two Pro Category wins, 2 second and 3 third place finishes by its #1 Car at COTA and Road Atlanta as well as two third place finishes in the Pro-Am/Am categories by the Prestige Performance #10.
In 2016, the 6-race Lamborghini series will hold five race events at iconic US sports car circuits such as Laguna Seca (April 29-May 1), Watkins Glen (June 29- July 1), Road America (August 5-7), Circuit of the Americas (September 14-16) as well as the new street circuit event in Boston (September 2-4) The World Finals will be held in Valencia, Spain, December 1-2, 2016.
