James Winslow will join AMAC Motorsport for the world famous 12 hour endurance races at Sepang and Bathurst, adding these two classic events to his already busy schedule.
James will join team owner Andrew Macpherson and Brad Shiels from Australia, in the team’s stunning IMAK backed Porsche GT3-R in both 12 hour events.
Bathurst holds happy memories for James having won many races and setting outright lap records in a number of categories on Mount Panorama in the past, along with three previous Bathurst 12 Hour events.
The F1 Sepang circuit is another James knows well having raced there in A1GP and during his championship winning seasons in Formula Renault V6 and Asian Formula 3.
More recently James has enjoyed podium finishes in LMP2 competition, as well as extensive coaching duties at the exciting Malaysian track.
James and Andrew have a good understanding behind the wheel having raced together this season in the opening round of the Australian GT championship at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide.
The pair ran well in the top three before brake issues halted their impressive performance.
James said: “I’m really excited to announce these drives alongside Andrew and Brad in the AMAC Porsche GT3 R, both are great guys supported by a great dedicated hard working team.
“I have driven with Andrew previously and always enjoy competing with him and the team, Andrew continues to improve and has impressed me with his pace and dedication.
“I’ve been involved with some coaching and it’s great to link up with him again now my schedule allows for these big events.
“Bathurst is a really special circuit, words just can’t do it justice! Sepang is a super technical track, and one of my favourites too.
“This year has been so busy and the end of the season looks like getting even busier, there is a lot of LMP2 racing remaining in the European Le Mans Series and then onto the Asian Le Mans Series between now and then.”
Outings in December’s Sepang 12 Hours and February’s Bathurst 12 Hour will add to an already mammoth season of racing ahead for James.
Adding to the GT3 races are LMP2 duties with Portuguese team, Algarve Pro Racing in the European Le Mans Series, followed instantly by the Asian Le Mans Series, along with an extensive testing and coaching programme in the LMP2 machinery in the Europe and Asia.
James said: “This season has been great and will continue to be very busy and very enjoyable.
“Adding Bathurst and Sepang with AMAC Motorsport, to the European and Asian Le Mans Championship outings completes and compliments a great year.”
