Joel Camathias finished in 4th position in the GTE-Am category in the opening round of the 2016 FIA-WEC round at Silverstone. A good result for the KCMG Porsche 911 RSR but that leaves the Swiss driver and his German team mates, Wolf Henzler and Christian Ried, bitter, as a suspension failure in the very final laps prevented to reach a podium position that had been certain throughout the 6-hour race.

Still, the good news come from the level of competitiveness shown by the package throughout the entire weekend.

Joel Camathias:

“It’s frustrating to see the podium going at the very end, when we had been running second or third during the whole race, but this is racing. One of the front suspensions just broke, during my last stint, and other Porsches suffered the same issue today. It’s really a pity because our pace had been really good during the entire weekend, in the wet and cold conditions of Friday and Saturday and on dry track today. The car worked perfectly and the team did a great job, so this is my main take-away and promises well for the next races.”
