The day after the first round of the French FFSA GT and Prototypes Championships, hosted in Nogaro, the ORECA Group allowed time for reflection following on the confusion created by different comments, statements and declarations to the media. After recent discussions held these last couple of days between FFSA President Nicolas Deschaux and Hugues de Chaunac, the ORECA Group wants to reaffirm its commitment to the GT Tour for the rest of the season, starting with next round in Lédenon (June 4th-5th).
ORECA Group President Hugues de Chaunac: “Following on the feedback we got the day after Nogaro, some of it given by the contenders themselves, the FFSA President has been very responsive. He has provided a number of guarantees regarding the future and we have decided to continue our mission in promoting the French FFSA GT and Prototypes Championships as well as the GT Tour overall.
“I want to thank all the teams and the many drivers that have shown support, as well as all the fans who have shared their feedback. We, too, are attentive and fully listening. That encourages us to do even more in order to turn the next rounds of the GT Tour into great events. Every effort is made to put together a more substantial line-up in the main discipline towards which the public continues to show great interest. Additionally, we will announce a new project for 2017 in mid-June.”
It is thus with great conviction and determination that the Group ORECA will remain involved in the 2016 GT Tour and alongside the teams, drivers, support series, tracks and partners. Moreover, ORECA will fully commit to its role in promoting the French FFSA Gt and Prototypes Championships, despite the statements and individual comments expressed by many.
From now on, the aim will be to complete the starting grid, from the round in Lédenon and throughout, as well as to pick up momentum race after race. Different changes will be put in place and the contenders will be kept informed. In addition to the support brought by the teams already participating in the competition, several discussions are currently taking place with different teams and drivers interested in the French FFSA GT and Prototypes Championships.
