An interesting season is ahead of Norbert Siedler: The Austrian will race with no less than three different GT3 cars. While the successful collaboration with Rinaldi Racing in the Blancpain GT Series continues, Siedler will be behind the wheel of a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 for the first time in the ADAC GT Masters. At the Nürburgring-Nordschleife the 33-year-old will steer a Porsche 911 GT3 R of Frikadelli Racing in the future.

“I was signed for three really exciting programs,” Norbert Siedler says happily. “Ahead of me are more than 20 race weekends with three completely different cars on all important European race tracks. That is the dream for every race driver!” The Tyrolean’s season will start at the beginning of April with the VLN Endurance Championship’s first race. Until the season finale at the end of October, Siedler will be at the track nearly every weekend.

Fight for the title with the Ferrari 488 in the Blancpain Sprint Cup

In the Blancpain GT Series Norbert Siedler focuses on continuity. After he had fought for the title in the Blancpain Sprint Series together with Marco Seefried until the very last race in 2015, he wants to start a new attempt now: “It is awesome that Marco and I start for Rinaldi Racing again.“

With the new Ferrari 488 GT3 the successful duo has a new weapon in the Sprint Cup: “This should be another step forward. The concept of the car is very promising,” Norbert Siedler explains. In the Blancpain Endurance Cup Siedler and Seefried will again be joined by the Russian Rinat Salikhov.

New challenge with the Lamborghini Huracan in the GT Masters

A completely new challenge is ahead of Norbert Siedler in the ADAC GT Masters. For the first time he will be behind the wheel of a Lamborghini. “The Huracan is the first GT3 car which was developed directly by Lamborghini. The car was really fast in some important endurance races such as Daytona. If the reliability improves, we should have really good chances.” Norbert Siedler will share the Italian super sports car with Jaap van Lagen (Netherlands). The car is operated by the Austrian team HB Racing.

ADAC 24 Hours Nürburgring and VLN Endurance Championship with Frikadelli Racing

At the Nürburgring Nordschleife Norbert Siedler will start on a Porsche again. Just as the Ferrari 488 from the Blancpain Sprint Cup, the new generation of the Porsche 911 is used by customer teams for the first time this year. “At the beginning of the year I claimed the pole-position for the Daytona 24 Hours with the car,” the family father looks back. “Until now I have a really good impression of the new Porsche, but the Nürburgring-Nordschleife is a completely different challenge.” Also the cooperation with his new team Frikadelli Racing makes Norbert Siedler confident. “The team developed a lot in the past few years and is now one of the best teams at the Nordschleife. I am sure that Sabine Schmitz, Klaus Abbelen, Patrick Huisman and I can get a few podium-results.”

Klaus Abbelen, driver and team principal of Frikadelli Racing, is happy about the contract with Siedler: “I really look forward to the collaboration with Norbert. He is a fast and reliable driver with a lot of experience at the Nordschleife and fits into our team perfectly.”
