For the 7th time in a row, team rhino’s Leipert from Wegberg participates in the 24h Dubai race in UAE which is held between 12th and 14th January, 2012.
Once again, the team from Wegberg has international drivers at the start in a field of over 80 vehicles. Their driver team consists of Germans Tobias Neuser (21) and Marcel Leipert (27), Finn Mika Vähämäki (22), French Jean-Marc Merlin (47) and Czech Jan Štovíček (36).
Germans Tobias Neuser and Marcel Leipert as well as Finn Mika Vähämäki were already fast on the track in Leipert’s Lamborghini in 2011 taking part in the ADAC GT Masters tournament and the Blancpain Endurance Series. French Jean-Mark Merlin has had many years of experience in GT3 and has already participated in the 24h Dubai race several times. Czech driver Jan Štovíček has already been a rhino’s Leipert driver in the Lamborghini during the 24h Dubai race 2011 and also raced in the FIA GT3 European Championship last year.
This is the 7th time this unique long-haul event is held in Dubai over 24h, and it is the third 24h race of the Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 for rhino’s Leipert. As last year already, the car bears the typical black/orange branding of the Leipert GT3 car. Apart from the logo of their long standing partner rhino’s energy from Munich, in 2012, the Lamborghini also shows the logo of partner KSI Germany (Kraemer Sonic Industries) from Herborn.
Team Manager Ingo Leipert explains:”For Dubai 2012, it is our goal to finish among the top 10. The drivers are all very experienced and know exactly how important it is to show constancy and to drive the car in a resource-saving manner. In the past few years, we have gained a lot of experience on the Dubai Autodrome, and were convinced in our first Lamborghini season in 2011 by the Lamborghini’s speed and stability. Now, all that’s missing is a bit of luck saving us from damages through accidents and race failure. The entire team enters season 2012 highly motivated and in anticipation.”
Team rhino’s Leipert is going to take part in the ADAC GT Masters, FIA GT3 and Blancpain Endurance Series with two Lamborghini GT3 cars each as long as the racing dates of the three championships allow it.
