Piergiuseppe Perazzini, Marco Cioci and Gianmaria Bruni won the “Six hours of Rome” on AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia GT2. The primacy is the title of the Endurance Champions Cup for Perazzini and Cioci (Bruni has been a member of the crew for the only Roman race, fourth and last event of the championship). For the Amato Ferrari team – after the 2011 victories of the prestigious Le Mans Series championship, Intercontinental Le Mans Cup, FIA GT3 and GT Sprint – a new title has arrived.
Perazzini-Cioci dominated the competition since the first race. The same happened during the Roman endurance race at Vallelunga, from the free practice to the chequered flag of the race.
Second overall and first of category, the AF Corse Ferrari 458 GT3 Italia driven by Giancarlo Fisichella, Vittorio Ghirelli and Lorenzo Casè. During the six hours, this car was the only one able to get close to the pace of the winning GT2. Thanks to this final result there is a one-two for AF Corse on the podium. In the second place of the GT3 category there is another AF Corse Ferrari 458, led by Ferdinando Geri, Filippo Francioni and Thomas Biagi. Even for them, very good performance in the difficult six hours on the circuit Valleunga, characterized by the high quality of the crews. Race brilliant and very good final result for Jack Gerber, Matt Griffin and Niki Cadei: their 458 GT3 finished fourth in the GT3 class, with the second place in the Blancpain GT3 category.
