This week Exim Bank Team China is leaving Europe for a trip around the world which coincides with the final rounds of the 2011 FIA GT1 World Championship. For these last races the team is entering two Corvette C6.R, one for the Chinese-Dutch duo Ho-Ping Tung and Jeroen den Boer bearing start number #11, whilst the car with start number #12 will be in the hands of the Frenchman Michael Rossi together with the Brazilian Sergio Jimenez. Both cars are in the full Exim Bank Team China livery and with two rounds in China, team manager Patrick Selleslagh has marked these off as good results in red in his agenda.

In this 2011 edition of the GT1 World Championship with races held in Ordos (Mongolia), Beijing (China) and San Luis (Argentina) the Exim Bank Team China is competing with two fast and young teams on the two Corvette C6.R GT1 cars:

#11: Ho-Ping Tung (China-29) – Jeroen den Boer (NL-21)

#12: Michael Rossi (Fra-23) – Sergio Jimenez (Bra-27)

Patrick Selleslagh: “Our overall aim is to finish on a high note in a World Championship which will still be visiting two continents and three totally different circuits. Our first race is on the Ordos circuit, where last season the Formula Superleague had previously competed, and where we will be the guests on 3rd and 4th September, and which you can compare to a standard circuit. After that we travel on through to Beijing, the Chinese capital, where we will be on track at the Beijing Golden Port Circuit, a small circuit, right in the middle of the area where the Olympic Games were held. In principle we will be racing there exactly one week later. Overall this should be pretty spectacular, with an impressive parade in this enormous city. True to tradition we will be ending the season in November on the ever spectacular San Luis hilly circuit in Argentina. It goes without saying that with our young drivers we’re out to perform strongly on all these circuits and fight it out for victory. In fact these three meetings are also the farewell rounds for the Corvette C6.R GT1 and we want this happen in style!”
