Two weeks before the start of the FIA GT1 World Championship Swiss Racing Team with headquarters in Inwil (CHE) did the rollout of the two Lamborghini Murciélago LP 670 R-SV. Pilots Karl Wendlinger (AUT) and Max Nilsson (SWE) were able to have a close look at their new racing cars in France. Spring-like temperatures and sunshine provided ideal conditions for completing the first few kilometres with the new cars. There were no problems during the first test sessions. Therefore the cars are now being prepared for the transport to the United Arab Emirates. In a few days time they will be flown to Abu Dhabi by plane.
Team principal Othmar Welti, “We are very happy with the rollout. There were no problems. Reiter Engineering handed the cars over in perfect condition. I am confident that the Lamborghini provide a good base for being more successful than last season. The first test in Abu Dhabi on March 23rd will surely give us a first taste of how we are able to manage the new cars. So far we did not have a chance to test them thoroughly. It was a very difficult time and not always easy but we have made it. I would like to thank those who supported us and continue to support us.” Two additional pilots will be announced shortly. They will share the cockpits with the Austrian and the Swede.
The first race of the second FIA GT1 World Championship season will take place in Abu Dhabi (UAE) on March 25th/26th.
