In 38 days time, engines of FIA GT championship will start once again: the first event is in Silverstone (UK) the 3rd of May. Nevertheless drivers and cars will be on track some days before in occasion of collective tests the 6th and 7th of April on Paul Ricard circuit. Without any doubts, AF Corse will be among the leaders of the championship, with two Ferrari F430 GT2 2009 version, with Michelin tyres. The target is to defend the team and drivers title, held uninterruptedly by Amato Ferrari’s team since 2006.
Amato Ferrari admits that his goal is to win the championship for the fourth time running, even knowing that this time will be harder than ever: “this year our contending teams are really great and their performances are similar to ours, but we will go flat out for winning, as we have always done”. Concerning the drivers, the team confirmed the winning crew Toni Vilander and Gianmaria Bruni, prepared and with a great race experience, and a brand new couple composed by Alvaro Barba, an emerging Spanish driver and Niki Cadei, resigning champion of Ferrari Challenge Italia. There will be eight races, including the most important event, the 24 hours in Spa the 26th July. The season ends is in Zolder, Belgium, the 25th of October. They will be six demanding months, where it will be necessary to work harder and harder to preserve the leadership in GT2 class, the most crowded of the championship.
The Pecom Racing Team drivers are ready to face a new season in the FIA GT championship. The next event will be the 6th and 7th of April in Paul Ricard for the collective tests before the first race, which will take place the 3rd of May in Silverstone (UK). The team will line up a Ferrari F430 GT2 and the drivers will be once again Luis Perez Companc and Matias Russo. The Argentinean drivers, who won the last race of the 2008 championship in Argentina, have always been really fast, showing a great ability in facing the race and obtaining some brilliant and satisfying results. This year the team is focused on improving further on this results, being aware of their skills and potentiality. Amato Ferrari is optimistic, also because these drivers have just obtained a brilliant result in crew with Gianmaria Bruni during the 12 hours race of Sebring ( USA). In this American race, they managed to reach a deserved 2ns place, with a perfect and errorless race; just one more demonstration that drivers and team are on the same wavelength.
