The Belgium race started very well for AF Corse, with the second pole position in a row for the crew Bruni/Melo. Also the Argentinean drivers Luis Perez Companc e Matias Russo had an excellent qualifying session, arriving fourth with a little time gap from the first ones. Not so lucky was instead the car driven by Alesi, Fisichella and Vilander, stopped by the red flag during their “good” lap and arrived thirteenth at the end of the session.
The race was full of sensational developments, not just on track. The starting was really demanding: the cars with slick tyres faced an unexpected heavy rain which caused a lot of troubles; but the three cars passed through uninjured. After that, a black out in time keeping compelled the organizers to wave the red flag with a 40 minutes stop; when the race restarted, there has been no few troubles in defining the correct cars classification. The race has been really hard also for the continue changes in adherence, even if Michelin tyres have always granted great performance.
In the end, Gianmaria Bruni and Jaime Melo came second to the finishing line, with Alesi, Fisichella and Vilander at their back, in third position. Eleventh Luis Perez Comanc and Matias Russo, who had a brilliant race passing through all the weather issues. In Spa has been also presented next 24 hours race of Le Mans: there will be two Ferrari F430 GTC which will take part to the most famous endurance race: one for Alesi, Fisichella and Vilander and a second one for Luis Perez Companc, Matias Russo and Mika Salo.
