The Beechdean Mansell Motorsport team are ready for the biggest test of the fledgling British team’s short international career when they head to Paul Ricard HTTT in the South of France for the first race of the 2010 Le Mans Series on Sunday 11 April.  Two highly positive tests at Paul Ricard and in Portugal have given the team and their drivers, Nigel, Leo and Greg Mansell, a reason to be confident of a good result in their first weekend in the LMP1 Category.

Team Principal Andrew Howard said : “Beechdean Mansell Motorsport has come a long way in a very short space of time and we’ve learnt so much about the car and ourselves since the team was announced in January.  This weekend is the culmination of a lot of hard work and everyone, the drivers and the mechanics, are all raring to get started. We have to be very realistic about our chances at Paul Ricard and the goal for the weekend is to be competitive, have a reliable car and get to the end of the race near the front of the field.  If we can do that we will come away on Sunday with a huge sense of achievement.  However we’ve proven at the recent tests that we have a quick car and three very quick drivers and who knows what can happen during an 8-hour race.”

Nigel Mansell said: “The race at Paul Ricard is where we start our 2010 season for real. There is going to be no hiding at this level of motorsport as we are racing against some of the best teams and drivers in the world. However, I’m confident that we’ll be able to show that we have a competitive package that has a lot of future potential and be in a position to get a good result.  The team has done a fantastic job in a short space of time and now we have the perfect stage at Paul Ricard to show what we can do.  I’m ready, Leo and Greg are ready, the team are ready; I just can’t wait to get started.”

The first race of the season takes place on Sunday 11 April and there is live TV coverage on Eurosport in the UK and across Europe.
