Anthony Davidson – #07 Peugeot 908 HDi FAP – 1st LMP1
“This is a fantastic result for me and for Team Peugeot Total. I thoroughly enjoyed driving the 908! It was nice that the race turned out to be so close, and it’s great to have marked my debut with the team with a win. I would like to thank everyone for their tremendous work.”
Alexander Wurz – #07 Peugeot 908 HDi FAP – 1st LMP1
“Finishing first and second is a perfect result for Peugeot. The outcome was only really settled after the last round of pit-stops and we pushed hard throughout the race.”
Marc Gené – #07 Peugeot 908 HDi FAP – 1st LMP1
“This was great practice ahead of Le Mans, both for the drivers and everyone in the team. It was good training for overtaking round what is a very demanding circuit…”
Olivier Quesnel – Peugeot Sport Director
“Our mission here was to validate a certain number of developments and we achieved that goal to the letter. Despite the absence of our main rival, I believe we put on a great show and team orders were only issued after the final pit-stops, with half an hour remaining. It was quite tense, but also very instructive. Reliability promises to play a key role at Le Mans, and the two 908 HDi FAPs ran like clockwork here, and our refuelling work, race strategy and the work of the entire team were all very strong, too. We can be proud to have added a French victory to this race’s roll of honour, and the 908 has now succeeded in winning all the main endurance races. It’s a promising result, but we can’t afford to take our eye off the ball…”
Adrian Fernandez – #007 Aston Martin Racing – 3rd LMP1
“It was a fantastic race for the team and a great start for me in my debut with Aston Martin. The team and the other drivers did a superb job in what was a very tough race. It bodes well for the car because if it can handle 12 hours of Sebring, then it will do well in the 24 hours of Le Mans.”
Stefan Mücke – #007 Aston Martin Racing – 3rd LMP1
“We had no problems although it was tough racing here during the night. We did the very best that we could and the car was reliable as expected so I’m very happy.”
Harold Primat – #007 Aston Martin Racing – 3rd LMP1
“The race has been really good. We obviously had some tough competition; we knew the diesels would be strong so I think we have achieved the best result we could. The team did a brilliant job capitalising on the car’s reliability and I am pleased with the outcome.”
George Howard-Chappell, Team Principal Aston Martin Racing
“I’m very pleased; it’s the best we could have expected if all front running cars were reliable – which they were. We wanted to be the fastest petrol car at Sebring and it’s excellent preparation for Le Mans, having a completely clean run with no issues at all. The Michelin tyres were fantastic as usual so happy all round.”
Paul Drayson – Owner/Driver Drayson #8 Lola – 4th LMP1
“After an absolutely storming first hour where we really showed the speed potential that we have. It was dogged determination that got us to the finish of the 12 Hours of Sebring tonight. We earned vital points towards the ALMS championship and learnt a huge amount to prepare for Le Mans 24 Hours. A great start to 2010.”
Jonny Cocker – Drayson #8 Lola – 4th LMP1
“We really showed that we have absolutely huge potential this year. We are going to have a strong year. We aren’t going to struggle for pace which is fantastic to have on our side. We have gathered a very strong team that has a lot of positive experience with P cars and I think it is going to be a very good year.”
Emanuele Pirro – Drayson #8 Lola – 4th LMP1
“There are positive things and a list of things to address. One positive is that the car is very, very strong. Personally, the positive thing is that I found the speed and the racecraft as I left it two years ago. All the things are still there and this is great for me. We lost time with mechanical issues and we had an accident when we were hit by a Peugeot. Really, the most positive thing is to bring the car home to the finish because we collected a lot of data that we can take to Le Mans. Thanks to the team and congratulations to my teammates. I am looking forward to Laguna.”
David Brabham – Patron Highcroft #1 HPD ARX 01c – 2nd LMP2
“I can’t help but feel a little bit flat at the end of the day. The car was running reliably, the pit-stops were excellent but we just picked up a bit of an electrical issue that cost us 24 minutes in the pits. You can’t afford to do that in these types of races. I think overall, there is always a positive to come out of this and what happened today will help us get even better prepared for the other long distance races and Le Mans as well. It is very important to finish well here and we’ve come away with a big handful of points. I had a great time driving with Simon and Marino for the first time and I think we made a for a very good combination. I’m really proud of all the guys on the team as well. They’ve worked incredibly hard and really have done an amazing job.”
Simon Pagenaud – Patron Highcroft #1 HPD ARX 01c – 2nd LMP2
“I had a great triple-stint in the afternoon. I was having fun out there and I thought they were going to leave me in there forever. The positive thing from today was the fact that apart from the electrical glitch, the car ran faultlessly and it was very consistent through all temperature ranges. That is very encouraging and the Michelin tires worked very well on the car as well. The car was a lot of fun to drive all day. Unfortunately after we had an electrical problem after we had a five lap lead and by the time the guys could get it fixed, we were down six laps to the Muscle Milk guys. Finishing second in class and fifth overall is still a great result and I am really proud of the team. We scored a lot of points and I am really looking forward to the rest of the season.”
Marino Franchitti – Patron Highcroft #1 HPD ARX 01c – 2nd LMP2
“The Patrón Highcroft team were fantastic all day – the pitstops, the strategy, my teammates – everyone executed to the best of their abilities which is great to see so early in the season. I went to get in the car for my final double stint and noticed smoke and discovered there was a barbecue going in the passenger side. That wasn’t so good. Luckily the guys were on it quickly with a fire extinguisher and got it out quickly. The crew did an amazing job to get the car back on track. Not only did they fix the car so quickly, but to have every single electrical system perform faultlessly after that was amazing. To do that in pit lane, under so much pressure really shows what this team is all about. It was a fantastic recovery. I’m disappointed at the end to not get the victory, but we scored fantastic points for the championship and our main goal was to come out of here strong. We can be very proud of what everybody did.”
Guy Smith – Dyson Racing #16 Lola-Mazda – 3rd LMP2
“This just underlines the hard work that AER put into the Mazda engine over the winter. The engine ran flawlessly on the isobutanol fuel, and there are a lot of good things from this race for us to build on for the rest of this year.”
Andy Meyrick – Dyson Racing #16 Lola-Mazda – 3rd LMP2
“It was a tough start to the race, but it showed the spirit of the team. I think it does show what we will be bringing to the table for the rest of the season.”
Chris Dyson – Dyson Racing #16 Lola-Mazda – 3rd LMP2
“The car is really good. I have to hand it to you guys; you have given me a heck of a race car. It is a pleasure to drive.”
