Sportscar driver Karim Ajlani will continue his prototype programme in 2010, beginning with the blue riband Le Mans 24 Hours this June. Ajlani, who became the first Syrian to compete at the world famous endurance event last season when driving an OAK Racing Pescarolo in LMP2, also plans to contest a number of European, American and Asian Le Mans Series rounds during the upcoming campaign.
Throughout the winter season Ajlani has maintained his peak physical fitness. However, he is unlikely to contest the opening Le Mans Series race at Paul Ricard, instead preferring the Le Mans 24 Hours for his seasonal debut.
Commenting on his plans, Karim said: “I’m really keen to broaden my horizons this season which is why I’m looking towards the US and Asia during the second part of the year. I’d like to stay in LMP2 as I feel the lessons learned there in 2009 will stand me in good stead for the year ahead.” Further announcements regarding Karim Ajlani’s 2010 schedule will be made in the coming weeks.
