Trottet Racing has confirmed that Swiss ace Marcel Fässler (33) will be their full-time leading driver in the 2009 International GT Open. The Geneva-based squad, which was the best GTA rookie team last year, clinching 3 wins and finishing fourth in both Driver (with Henri Moser) standings, will definitely be a title-contender this year, with its Ferrari F430 GTC.

To that end, it has secured the services of Marcel Fässler for the entire season, something that could not happen last year because of his numerous other racing commitments. In 2009, the fast and expert former DTM driver will be focusing exclusively on the GT Open and the LMS.

Present at the International GT Open Award Ceremony in Madrid few days ago, team principal François Trottet commented: “We are anxious to start our second season in the GT Open, a championship that suits perfectly our ambitions and we are delighted to be able to have such a great driver as Marcel for the entire season. We are now finalizing contacts to have another top driver alongside Marcel, in order to maximize our options.”
