Great experience for our LMP2 drivers : the Belgian, Renaud Kuppens, and the Englishman, James Swift discovered the car here at Le Castellet, while Alex Kapadia had only raced once in LMP2 at Budapest, 2 weeks ago. Despite their limited experience, the drivers achieved very good laptimes. They finished in the top 5 of the championship finale.

Qualifying session : P6

Race : P5

Renaud Kuppens : “It has always been my dream to drive a prototype in the Le Mans Series. This is a positive first experience. I did not make any mistakes, and we have improved during all weekend. I didn’t take too much risk in the beginning, because I had to discover the car in the race, starting with cold tires and brakes. I didn’t want to make mistakes that would have penalized my two teammates. I had difficulty with the wind, which was head on, especially in braking zones. Later I had a good pace and in the second part of my stint, I was making the same laptimes as the others, despite the traffic. It was really a great first experience.”

Alex Kapadia : “I had a great stint during the race . The car felt great and during my first stint I was able to get up to fifth. I think we were equal quickest on the track at the time. I have had a great couple of races with the team. I hope to continue this next year.”

James Swift : “Amazing week-end. I was a little bit nervous about the speed of the car in the beginning, but I have been able to stay ahead of it. Today, it was brillant – probably the best day in a racing car. Can’t wait to come back for another LMP2 race with Boutsen Ginion.”
