Last round of European Le Mans Series championship, 3 hours of the Paul Ricard will take place in south France next weekend. Natacha Gachnang and Christian Klien will be back behind the wheel of the Morgan Judd #43. They wil share the car during two free practice sessions on Friday from 11.20 am to 12.20 and later in the afternoon from 3.40 pm to 4.40pm. Comfortable during the early season test in Paul Ricard, Morand Racing will once again face numerous competitors : 7 other cars want to succeed in LM P2 category. 26 cars will be on the starting grid on Saturday afternoon. Located in South France just a few miles from the city of Marseille, Paul Ricard also known as HTTT reopened to the public a few years ago.
The track is characterised by its long Mistral straight about 1.8 km and elongated track design. The track is also unusual in that it is built on a plateau and is very flat. The length of the full track is around 5.8 km. The track offers 167 possible configurations from 826 to 5,861 metres. Its flexibility and mild winter weather mean that it is used for testing by several motorsport teams, including endurance teams.
Benoit Morand – Team Manager « Before looking back to the first season of the team, we have to push hard once again to give Onroak Automotive and our team, a victory in European Le Mans Series Championship this season. We will compete versus highly professionnal team and drivers, I have no doubt about it. Our staff and our partners : Dunlop, Onorak and Judd will once again do their best to fight for victory. Our goals for this last round are various : finish in the top 3 of the team championship, from 4th ex æquo we want to be on the final podium. We would like to see Natacha finishing in the top 5 in drivers classification. Winning will be our main goal, we enjoyed podiums in Italy and Austria. Now we want to go back home with the winner’s trophy. »
For this last round of the season, Morand Rcaing will welcome the lucky winner of a competition started weeks ago in collaboration with french most popular endurance website : Endurance Info. The winner is Olivier Boyer. He will meet the team and the drivers, spend some time with racing engineer and get details and infos about the car before being invited to see the race from the pit. Morand Racing is delighted to welcome a fan in his garage on Saturday.
