The 2013 season of the European Le Mans Series is coming to an end this weekend with the fifth and last round, scheduled at the Circuit Paul Ricard near Le Castellet. On the track in Southern France, Joel Camathias, team mate Andrea Bertolini and the entire JMW Motorsport are determined to wrap up with a positive result a season that has always seen them among the front-runners but also targeted by bad luck. The British team’s Ferrari F458 has proved extremely competitive but, for one reason or another, has paid a toll to bad fortune in each race. The Swiss driver heads to the last round with the clear intention to finish on the podium, add a positive result to the one second and two fourths obtained in previous rounds, and improve the current sixth position in the overall standings. The 3-hour race is scheduled on Saturday, kicking-off at 16:37.

Joël Camathias: “It’s already the closing race of the ELMS and we want to finish the season on a high. It has been a nice season, because we were always in the top end of the field, but frustrating, because we couldn’t have a single race free of trouble so far, be them technical or linked to weather conditions. We hope that we have paid the entire toll to misfortune and we can run a full race without hiccups in France. The Paul Ricard is a fast track, not particularly exciting from a driving point of view, that we all know well. If we are spared by trouble, I am sure we can achieve something great. That would be a nice reward for the entire team, which has worked hard and well, and deserves a happy end.”
