For the fourth and penultimate round of the European Le Mans Series season 2013, Morand Racing is travelling to Hungary. The Hungaroring racetrack, which is located in Magyorod, a small town twenty kilometers away from the capital city of Budapest, offers an exciting challenge for the Morand Racing drivers. Bendy, narrow and 4.381 kilometers long, the racetrack is nicknamed « the turnstile » due to its never ending succession of corners, straight lines and slow corners. The Hungarian racetrack has been used by Formula 1 since 1986 and has been the setting of epic battles as was the case for Nelson Piquet versus Ayrton Senna that very same year to name just one.

Endurance first came to this ex soviet republic in 2010 as part of the Le Mans Series championship. Natacha Gachnang and her new team mate, Austrian Christian Klien, will face a highly competitive field mixing both prototypes of the LMP2 category and GT cars, and they will do their best to come back home with a great result. The Swiss team of Joe Genoud and Benoit Morand who is 5th the championship will do their utmost to stand on the final podium of the LMP2 category. Motors TV will broadcast the race on TV.

BENOIT MORAND – TEAM MANAGER «The Hungaroring racetrack will see Christian Klien, the former F1 driver, race for the first time under the colors of Morand Racing. When he tested our car in England, he showed us he was a great guy, being both reliable and fast as a driver and gifted with a second to none technical comeback. Our drivers know that they will have to face a highly competitive field and that everybody will have the same aim, namely to stand on the podium. Qualification will be a very tricky moment but with a clear lap and Dunlop tyres in the right temperature we can hope for a good place on the grid. As to the race, traffic will assuredly play a major part, just as in Austria.»
