This round the clock race held at the great Motorland Aragon circuit will be the highlight of the 2013 V de V Endurance Series season. The Prototype and GT cars gave us a great show throughout those 12 hours of hard racing. Man and machine did suffer during the hard long marathon that represents a 12 hours endurance race.

With both classes combined some competitors were expecting the worst but everything ran smoothly even during the night. In qualifying, the prototypes showed their speed and occupied the front of the grid with TFT team on pole followed by CD sport. The pole in GT went to the Visiom Ferrari F458 GT2 team. After 2 hours of racing the Ferrari runs out of fuel and lost 10 laps. Reliability is the key in endurance racing and the Porsche of IMSA Mamut Performance is leading the race in GT.In GTV2 class, it’s another story with the Porsche 997 Cup S of Lorient Racing stuck in their box to change a faulty gearbox. The Mosler n°111 of V de V Sports is penalized following a starter change where 4 team members pushed the car instead of the 3 allowed by the rule. A black flag is than showed to Canadian driver Jean-Sebastien Sauriol who cannot see the flag because of the poor visibility around the track combined with the loss of any radio communication with his team. The Mosler is disqualified by the race director and the team is out of the event. A very severe penalty considering the extreme poor visibility around the track at the time.V de V organisers are considering a rule change for the future.

The protoype class isled by the n°40 of team Palmyr followed by the n°8 of TFT and the n°4 of CD Sport all using Norma chassis. This order is going to stay the same after the 12th hours of racing with Palmyr drivers Philippe Mondolot, David Zollinger and Gregory Fargier taking the win ahead of team TFT driven by Capillaire/Cavailhes/Gelinand the final spot on the podium is completed by Bole Besançon/Taittinger/Bossy on the n°4 of CD Sport.

In GT, IMSA Performance Matmut wins their class after a perfect race for the championship leaders Gibon/Belloc/Balandras. Second place belongs to the Ferrari n°102 of team Visiom (Pagny/Bouvet/Perrier/Bachelier) ahead of the Porsche of Crubilé Sport (Perrodo/Crubilé/Collard) in third place.

Beside the race results is the satisfaction of all the drivers that took part in this event organized by Eric Van de Vyver who fought hard to organize this 12 hours race of Motorland Aragon with the Prototypes & GTclass combined.

The next round will be hel dat Magny-Cours on October 25-27 for a 6 Hours race for GT/Touring & Prototype classes respectively.
