Aston Martin Racing is signing a technical partnership with bt Bremsen Technik GmbH, the racing and high performance brake pads specialist, in order to benefit from the premium Pagid RS range and technical support it can provide for Aston Martin Vantage GTE, GT3 and GT4 race cars.

The partnership begins in time for the ‘flyaway’ rounds of the FIA World Endurance Championship, which start with the Six Hours of Sao Paulo in Brazil on 1 September. Bremsen Technik GmbH (bt), a wholly owned subsidiary of brake friction specialist TMD Friction, will supply parts and support to each of the five Aston Martin Racing cars contesting the championship.

“We’re looking forward to working with one of the world’s leading brake pad manufacturers”, comments Warren Jones, Technical Partner Manager at Aston Martin Racing.

“We have works and customers cars competing at the highest levels; from our Vantage GTE in the FIA World Endurance Championship to the Vantage GT3s and GT4s competing in major championships around the world. We therefore need to partner with manufacturers who expect the same premium standards that we do. This is why Pagid RS is the right fit for us.”

“We are thrilled to develop and test our state-of-the-art brake components with Aston Martin Racing, who take our brake pads to the very competitive edge”, adds Olaf Schwaier, Managing Director of bt Bremsen Technik GmbH.

“As a part of TMD Friction we can utilize the vast R&D resources of Central Engineering, where we develop high performance and eco-friendly compounds for the cars of the future. Our Pagid RSL1 compound is a brand new endurance friction material which gives the driver ultimate brake performance over a broad temperature range. Our ‘yellow pads’ Pagid RS 19 and RS 29 have been the benchmark in endurance racing for many years, but the RSL1 is better still in terms of wear rate and friction coefficient.”
