In its goal to further expand its operations to diverse motorsport initiatives, KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) is pleased to announce the establishment of a new motorsport outfit, KCMG-WEC. The international motorsport group’s new operation focuses on World Endurance Championship campaigns which highlights the world’s greatest endurance motor racing event- the Le Mans 24 Hours.

In line with this, the group reveals Taiwan-based entrepreneur Lorens Lin as one of the major stockholders of KCMG-WEC. Fueled by his intense passion for motorsport and race car technology, the Taiwanese shareowner will work closely with KCMG Managing Director Paul Ip in this new brainchild. Their shared goal is to bring the culture and excitement of sports car endurance racing through the WEC series, particularly that of Le Mans 24, to the Far East.

Considered as the main men behind China’s historic entry in the 81st edition of the Le Mans 24 Hours this year, Lin and Ip’s efforts on the WEC project has produced tremendous and positive results. Lin states, “It is a privilege and with great pride to be part of such a historic moment for Chinese motorsport. As the first ever Chinese team to be invited to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, we feel a great sense of responsibility, yet we are also thrilled about the challenge of competing against the best racers and teams from around the world. I have the uttermost confidence in our drivers and crew who have been working dedicatedly since the inception of this campaign. Mr. Ip and I sincerely hope all our friends back in Asia and the rest of the world could follow our progress throughout the whole event and cheer for the team until the chequered flag drops at 3pm Sunday afternoon on June 23rd.”

Paul Ip: “The WEC campaign is one of KCMG’s greatest milestones so far. Our aim is to further bolster the sportscar endurance racing culture in Asia. Our journey to the Le Mans 24 Hours has been most fulfilling and we are happy to welcome Lorens as he takes part in this massive new endeavor with us. We are all looking forward to the big event next week at Circuit de la Sarthe and we’d like to sincerely thank everyone who has supported us along the way.”
