Tomy Drissi will feature the upcoming movie release, The Heat, on his Porsche 911 GT3 RS when Pirelli World Challenge heads to the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, for a doubleheader event for GT and GTS, May 17 – 19, as part of the V8 Supercars Austin 400 event weekend. Overall, 19 GT and 34 GTS cars are slated to race at COTA.
Circuit of the Americas often abbreviated as COTA is a 3.427-mile motor racing circuit near Austin, Texas. It hosted the Formula One United States Grand Prix last November. It is the first purpose-built Grand Prix facility in the U.S.
“Things have come together pretty quickly for this event,” said Tomy. “It’s going to be a great race and COTA is just an amazing facility.”
“We wouldn’t be here though if it wasn’t for my friends, Rob and Charles Morgan and Tyler Tadevic. They graciously offered up one of their Porches and I’ve teamed up with Jack Baldwin’s GT Sport Racing / Gold Crest Motorsports to support the car throughout the weekend. I’ve had good success driving Porsches in World Challenge, so I think we can put together a good run at COTA.”
