Patrick Long and CORE autosport will make their 2013 ALMS GT debut this weekend at Laguna Seca, a race Patrick has won three times. CORE’s debut in the class comes right on schedule after a winter and spring of preparation, and has been highly anticipated in the sportscar world. Long and CORE will jump directly into the deep end of ALMS GT competition, the most competitive class in endurance racing.

Patrick said, “We’re definitely prepared. I’m excited to push forward on all the team objectives and race criteria, but I’m also looking forward to CORE to debut to Porsche fans so people can understand what this team is all about. I feel like I spent the offseason trying to tell people how legit this team is and how well they operate and I’m looking forward to everyone seeing it first hand. I don’t feel much hype or expectation. The only hype is my own confidence in this team. Coming in with a known quantity like Michelin is a huge help. It means we have no concerns on the tire side. We know we have the speed and reliability that the front-runners have. People underestimate how important those four contact patches are. You could have a perfect car, but if the tires aren’t working, it’s all for nothing.”
