Tomy Driss has his sights set on Saturday’s podium when the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón takes to the streets of Long Beach for the 2013 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.
Driving the BAR1 Motorsports No. 7 EPIC (the movie in theaters May 24) Prototype Challenge car, Tomy hopes is hometown edge will continue. Long Beach was the track where Tomy took his first professional racing win and a track that has brought success on several other occasions. Most recently Tomy finished second on the podium in 2011 co-driving the Intersport Racing Prototype Challenge car with team mate Kyle Marcelli.
Tomy Drissi: “I can say enough about racing in Long Beach. It’s so great to be racing in front of my hometown [Los Angeles] crowd. “I’ve had a lot of personal success here. While it’s hard not to be excited about your first professional win, the drive Kyle and I had in 2011 was just like the movie we’re promoting this weekend, EPIC!
“We’ve really got a great program behind our ALMS effort this year. BAR1 Motorsports is giving us exactly what we need to win races. My co-driver, Rusty Mitchell, and I have a great working relationship and both share excellent communications with our BAR1 crew. I’m expecting a banner weekend.”
Known for his Hollywood advertising company, Tomy’s car livery features a new movie at each ALMS event. This week will be no different as the No. 7 prototype machine will roll off the trailer featuring the upcoming movie, EPIC.
