In 2009, Formula Le Mans has hit the ground running! Formula Le Mans attracted a lot of interest at the Birmingham Motor Show and faced with the impatience of the drivers and teams who couldn’t wait to discover how the prototype works, it decided to give them the opportunity to test the car on the Paul Ricard HTTT circuit on 27th-28th January.
During this exceptional test session more than 20 drivers drove the prototype and did around 10 laps each. 1000 kilometres later, covered without the slightest problem, they all unanimously praised the qualities of the car. “It’s easy to drive and the balance is perfect,” explained the first drivers, while others were more struck by its “explosive” acceleration and “awesome” cornering speeds!
Two more test sessions have already been programmed on 10th and 26th February 2009 on the Paul Ricard HTTT circuit for around 30 drivers.
Encouraged by this enthusiasm Formula Le Mans has exchanged a lot of ideas with the large number of teams interested in the championship, and having taken into account the current economic situation, has gone even further in its low-cost approach.
A wide range of attractive measures have been decided, the most spectacular of which gives the teams the possibility of hiring the prototype for the 2009 season for a budget of 80 000 euros, eliminating a big investment for them. Taken as a whole, these measures give an “all-inclusive” budget of 300 000 euros (tax not included) for the season, or a cost of 150 000 euros (tax not included) per driver.
More than ever, Formula Le Mans is THE international endurance championship easily accessible to all teams and drivers!
