While the third edition is still running at the Paul Ricard Circuit, Patrick Peter, event organisator, spoke to the journalists this afternoon with Stéphane Clair.

The Paul Ricard Circuit’s director has first congratulated Patrick Peter and his team of Peter Auto for the quality of this 2012 edition. First of all the number of categories is up to 7 this year, proving the participants and historic cars’ owners are more and more numerous to join the starting grids. And the number of clubs who came to this meeting is also significant: 600 cars are present this weekend in the Paddock 2 showing the loyalty of collection cars’ owners to Peter Auto and also the attraction of this event for new clubs.

Then Patrick Peter confirmed the meeting will be renewed for a 4th season, on October 4-5-6. 2013, at the Paul Ricard. This new edition will be special thanks to the comeback of the “BPR” for its 20th anniversary.

In August 1993, Stephane Ratel and Patrick Peter launched a concept of GT race based on Venturi Trophy before to create a series in March 1994 with the complicity of Jürgen Barth, the “BPR”. This new series of Dix Mille Tours du Castellet will contribute to the evolution of this 100% classic meeting, like FIA Historic Formula One and Nineties’ Red do this year. The BPR will bring together some cars which have competed between 1993 and 1996: McLaren F1 GTR, Venturi 600LM, Porsche 911 Turbo S LM and Ferrari F40 LM will be seen again on the track.

These cars having not run since the BPR time, most of them are not in keeping with today’s racing standards anymore. So the cars will compete in a regularity race like the Nineties’ Red cars: two test sessions and two 30-minute rounds.
