Swiss GT driver Joel Camathias (31) alongside his team-mates – Danish driver Benny Simonsen (28) [who well replaced for this appointment season regular driver Markus Palttala] and Briton pilot Paul Daniels (54) – driving #55 JWA/Avila Porsche 911 GT3 RSR in the GT2/GTE-Am Class, finished 6th in the 6. Round of the FIA World Endurance Championship.

The trio have been really close to a podium finish, when running in a strong class 3rd place they broke the gearbox just 20 minutes to the end. Joel started having problem with gear selection already during his stint and he managed it until definitive failure.

Joel`s comment: “It’s a pity we couldn’t get this result, but honestly I’m happy about the progress we are still doing. I’m proud of what my team and my team-mates did this week end. We were all very focused to achieve this result! As always thanks for the great effort to my team [JWA/Avila] and my team-mates [Paul Daniels and Benny Simonsen]!”.

Next round (7.) of the FIA World Endurance Championship will take place at Fuji (Japan) on October 14.
