Frenchman Romain Iannetta completes Creation Autosportif’s 24 Heures du Mans line up for the 2009 edition of the race. The Villecresnes native joins the recently confirmed Jamie Campbell-Walter (Scotland) and Vanina Ickx (Belgium) completing the trio for the Anglo-American team, and will make his 4th start at La Sarthe circuit having previously campaigned the race in Courage LMP2 and Porsche GT3 machines.
Iannetta commented “I am glad to drive for the fourth time in the most important endurance race in the world. Going for Le Mans with Creation Autosportif represents a huge opportunity for me. The team has proved many times at being competitive and reliable in endurance racing and especially at Le Mans. With the Judd 5.5 engine the Creation package allows us to expect to finish 77th 24 Heures du Mans with a good result.
I am also happy to share the car with my team mates, Jamie Campbell-Walter and Vanina Ickx. They are both experienced in prototype racing and they will represent an additional strength to me. It will be my first year behind the wheel of an LMP1, so I am looking forward to discover the car during the coming test days in England.”
Creation’s Andy Woolgar added “I am very pleased to have Romain with Creation Autosportif. He brings an understated quality as a reliable, quick thinking driver to an already well formed package. As a team Romain’s inclusion completes what we believe to be a strong entry for this year’s race. What we have is a very well prepared car, excellent and trusted engine package, and 3 very well matched drivers”.
The newly revised Creation CA-07/2009 recently underwent a very successful wind tunnel test and this week will be out on the 9 post rig prior to testing at the Snetterton Circuit in Norfolk UK, on 28th. Following this the car will test again on 1st June at the same venue.
