James Walker will be back behind the wheel of his Ferrari 458 race car this weekend when he hits the track at Silverstone in the only UK round of the prestigious FIA World Endurance Championship. The JMW Motorsport team elected to enter this single round in order to go head-to-head with the best drivers ad teams in the world.

“After missing out on my ‘home’ race at Donington recently due to the birth of my baby daughter, it’s fantastic to be able to compete in the world championship race at Silverstone,” said James. “This is one of my top three tracks in the world so it’s a great opportunity for us to show that we can deliver the results when we are up against the best of the best.”

After starting their association with James at the Le Mans 24 Hours in June, IWI Watches are continuing their support of him throughout 2012 so he will be sporting the special IWI helmet livery at Silverstone.

“I’m really enjoying my association with the guys at IWI,” said James. “It’s a UK brand so it is good to be able to generate some publicity for them here, hopefully by getting a great result in the race!”

James was forced to miss the last round of the European Le Mans Series when his brand new baby daughter, Sofia, decided it was time to make an entrance. James, his wife Lisa and baby Sofia are now happily settled into family life but James might be glad of the good night’s sleep he will get before the Silverstone race.

“The last month has been pretty busy for my wife Lisa and I, as any new parents would understand,” he said. “Now I’ve relocated back to Jersey it has reminded me what a great place this is to bring up a family. Even though there is a lot of commuting back and forth to the mainland for me it is well worth it.”
