Eric Curran, Boris Said, and the Whelen Motorsports team head back to Watkins Glen International to this weekend with the No. 31 Whelen Corvette for the Continental Tire 200; the tenth round in the 2012 GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series. This weekend though, Curran will be driving double-duty with some seat time in the NASCAR Nationwide Series No. 53 Dodge Charger of NDS Motorsports.

“I am really excited for my NASCAR Nationwide debut this weekend at Watkins Glen. I grew up racing in New England and won my first race at the Glen back in 1996,” Curran said. “I have had great success at the Glen over the years in many different series. I raced in the NASCAR Camping World Series there a few years ago but never a Nationwide race. I am really looking forward to it!

“I want to thank Steve Hibbard and NDS Motorsports for the opportunity to drive the #53 Dodge in this weekends Nationwide race at Watkins Glen. To make a great opportunity even better, I will be driving the #53 car again at Montreal the following weekend. To top off these two great weekends coming up, I get to promote Team Fox and The Michael J Fox Foundation. Sonny Whelen unfortunately developed Parkinson’s a few years ago and recently gave up his racing career to drive a new race, The Race to Cure Parkinson’s. Sonny has been very active with Team Fox and currently sits on the board and welcomes any donations to help develop a cure for the disease. I am really proud to be able to support Team Fox with both the Nationwide Car and the GRAND-AM Rolex Series car at Watkins Glen and Montreal.
