ProSpeed Competition would like to welcome you on the most famous race track in the world for the most prestigious GT race of the season. The 24 Hours of Spa are the highlight of the Blancpain Endurance Series, the most successful series for GT cars in the world.

Prospeed Competition enters two Porsche 911 GT3 R for seven very fast drivers. The aim of the team is to play at front, both in the Pro Category and the ProAm Category.

Rudi Penders, how will ProSpeed Competition be taking on the 24 Hours of Spa 2012?

“With ambition. A twenty‐four event, whatever the circuit, is an enormous challenge that the mechanics, the drivers and all people in the team have to take on. The elements one needs to keep a close‐eye on, not forgetting the length of the event are countless. Staying humble is the best approach. On the other hand, it’s quite unthinkable to take on such a challenge without sporting ambitions. The ambition, which I share with Luc Goris, co‐founder of ProSpeed Competition, is and remains our primary motivation. And we try, on a daily basis, to transmit this through to each member of the team, whether he or she is a mechanic, driver or partner.”

2011 – 2012, same battle?

” No, our priorities which prevail for our “2012″ entry are fundamentally different. Last year ProSpeed Competition was not entered in the Blancpain Endurance Series. Our presence at the 24 Hours of Spa was purely a ” one shot”. In 2012, ProSpeed and our two teams are out to produce a top performance in the Series. The 24 Hours of Spa is the “cream” event of the Series. At the finish the promoter awards … “double” points. So we need to remain attentive. After the race the Blancpain Endurance Series hierarchy will have revealed its definite face.”

Can we really talk of ambition when up against four works cars?

“And why not? ProSpeed Competition opted to compete in the Blancpain Endurance Series in order to take on the best European teams. And a few months later ProSpeed Competition imposed its 911 GT3‐R as the Porsche reference. In Monza, Marc Goossens, Xavier Maassen and Marc Hennerici led for two thirds of the race. On the Castellet circuit, Paul Van Splunteren, Maxime Soulet and Dylan Derdaele qualified in a masterly manner. And the crew of the #75 is once more ranked in an honourable fifth place. Obviously the presence of four works cars raises the level of the Series. This can but enhance our team’s performance.”

A double winner of the event in the team, this must be a first!

” You’re obviously referring to Frédéric Bouvy. Yes, that’s correct, he previously won the 24 Hours of Spa on two occasions. But he isn’t a newcomer to the team. Frédéric is a genuine competitor, as proven by his energy in the Belgian Racing Car Championship. He’s a choice reinforcement for Paul Van Splunteren, Maxime Soulet, and Dylan Derdaele. Those four together, at the wheel of the #74, have a few cards up their sleeve. As stipulated in the “Pro” category regulations, the #75 will be manned by only three drivers, namely Marc Goossens, Xavier Maassen and Marc Hennerici.”
