Jonathan Hirschi faces a new challenge in late July, as he will take part in the Total 24 Hours of Spa with the Vita4one Italia team, driving a Ferrari 458. He will therefore continue his GT career under the sign of the prancing horse. He will share the wheel with three other drivers : Amos, Petrobeli and Bonacini, in the Pro-Am category, which brings together professional and amateur drivers. Jonathan is very confident of the chances of this crew, who are currently leading the Pro-Am classification.
Jonathan will be taking part in the 24 Hours of Spa for the third time, and hopes to do better than last year, aiming to finish among the top ten of the 75 cars expected at the start. « My contact with the Vita4one team, which is managed by Matteo Bobbi, has been very good. When I raced in the FIA GT1 World Championship in 2010, he was one of my rivals, and that was when we first met. I think that it a very good opportunity for me to be able to drive in this team which has no need to prove how competitive and serious they are. I would like to thank Matteo and his team for their support and the confidence they have placed in me. “
Tuesday July 24th will therefore see Jonathan head for the Belgian Ardennes. The famous parade of the cars from the circuit to the streets of Spa will take place on Wednesday afternoon, with practice getting underway on Thursday morning. The race will start on Saturday July 28th at 4 pm. The race will be shown live on the internet, via the Blancpain Endurance Series website. You will also be able to follow Jonathan via his internet site, Facebook and Twitter.
