The aabar Abu Dhabi Villorba racing with Ferrari Team is ready to get back on track in the 2012 International GT Open. The next two races will be held over the weekend of July 15th at Brands Hatch, England. The Italian squad led by Raimondo Amadio will enter the third round of the series organized by the GT Sport of Jesus Pareja with their race drivers Andrea Montermini and Juan Manuel Lopez. Behind the wheel of their powerful Ferrari 458 of the Super GT class the fast Italian driver and the young Argentine will face a very challenging round which represent the half-season mark.
As during late June at Spa, where the aabar Abu Dhabi Villorba clinched a fine podium in race-1, the weather will be uncertain therefore the rain or the wet track could play a key role again. At Brands Hatch on Friday, July 13th there will be two free practice sessions. Qualifying is scheduled on Saturday 14th at 10:00 and 12:10. Race-1 will take place at 14:55 and it will be broadcasted live on RaiSport 2 in Italy at 15:55. Sunday, July 15th race-2 will start at 12:15, live on RaiSport 2 at 13:15.
“We came back from Spa disappointed by the result of race-2 in the rain – says Raimondo Amadio, Team Principal – because it does not help us in the standings. However last year we did well at Brands and we hope to score valuable points in the standings. From now on we have to be perfect.”
“This track is so special in motorsport history with its challenging bends and ups and downs – says Montermini -. I have known it since my experience in F.3000 and I won there in GT in 2008. This year will be tough for everyone as the weather forecasts are uncertain and the rain could make things even more difficult. Anyway, we are ready for this challenge and looking for a great result to gain some places in the standings.”
