Swiss GT racer Joel Camathias (31) alongside his team-mates – Finnish driver Markus Palttala (34) and Briton pilot Paul Daniels (53) – driving #55 JWA/Avila Porsche 911 GT3 RSR in the GT2/GTE-Am Class, saw the chequered flag, finishing 8th in his Class (and 33rd in the overall classification), at the France marathon of the prestigious 24 hours of Le Mans. Final result could have been a bit better, but at the very end the Trio had an issue with the gearbox.

Joel`s comment:

“WOW! What an awesome experience! Just living this race you can understand why it’s so special and unique! I’m proud to have been part of that! Regarding our race I can say that everything went pretty well, as we expected. Our primary aim was to finish it and we did it! Of course without that issue at the gearbox at one hour to the end final result could have been a little bit different, but honestly I’m happy with what we achieved! We also scored again some important World Championship points. A big thanks from the bottom of my heart to my whole team, JWA/Avila, and to my team-mates, Paul and Markus, for the great job!”.

Next round of the FIA World Endurance Championship will be run at Silverstone (Great Britain) on August 26.
