In the build-up to the event the team has conducted a full day of testing at Snetterton in Norfolk with drivers David Brabham, Mark Blundell and Matt Bell behind the wheel. The team was able to get significant track time around the Norfolk circuit and managed to test the various development parts on offer from McLaren. A second test is planned for Wednesday (30th) and will see Team Owner and driver Zak Brown joined by Mark Patterson, Alvaro Parente and Matt Bell.
It was a mixed weekend for the team during the season opener in Monza and they will be looking for a solid performance at Silverstone. The focus will be to have both cars in point-scoring positions by the end of the second round of thishighly competitive international series. Silverstone is the home of British Motorsport and a current Formula 1TM Grand Prix Circuit. The 3.660 mile new configuration makes it one of the quickest on the calendar. Fast, and demanding the circuit has some high speed flowing corners, which provide a great spectacle for the guests and fans. With 60 plus cars expected to take to the grid the completion will be fierce.
Richard Dean. Team Owner and Managing Director of United Autosports : “We are all really looking forward to our ‘home’ race at Silverstone and the weather forecast should make it a tremendous event for our many guests and supporters. Monza wasn’t the start we had hoped for so it has been a frustrating six weeks waiting to put that right. We’ve been working hard to take significant steps forward and I believe the McLaren MP4 12C will be the car to beat on this high speed, technically demanding circuit and we have the best drivers so no excuses! .”
