After an intensive test session in Le Castellet last week, from May 25 to 27 the aabar Abu Dhabi Villorba racing with Ferrari Team is ready for the next race for the 2012 International GT Open. For the Italian squad led by Raimondo Amadio the Nurburgring is an all new track in the series organized by GT Sport of Jesus Pareja, but together with the race drivers Andrea Montermini and Juan Manuel Lopez the whole team is very determined to redeem the difficult first round of the season when, a month ago, its Ferrari 458 of Super GT class was inadvertently pulled out of race-1 by a lapped car at the Portimao circuit.

The fast Italian driver and the young Argentine have worked hard to be more competitive ahead of the German round of the championship, focusing both on mechanical details and tyres as well as on testing different setups on their supercar from Maranello, studying carefully the 2012 updates. So, the aabar Abu Dhabi Villorba racing with Ferrari Team returns to the GT Open wothe the goal of closing the gap between the drivers and teams ahead in the standings, and willing to be back among the main contenders in the races, even for the overall podium.

“The round at Nurburgring – says Amadio – is one of the most challenging of the season, as we do not know the track very well and above all it is Porsches’ home race. But after our test session at Paul Ricard I am confident that we can manage a positive weekend trying to regain valuable points in the standings.”

“We are facing a new circuit - says Montermini – and there will be some new aggressive rivals. The level of competition keeps on rising and there is a lot of work to do, but for sure we will not pull back.”

The German weekend will start on Friday with two free practice sessions. Qualify 1 is scheduled on Saturday at 8:55 and at 11:55. Race-1 (70 minutes) of the second round of the 2012 International GT Open will take place at 14:25. Sunday, May 27, race-2 (50 minutes) at 13:00.
