In 2012 ProSpeed Competition will not solely be concentrating on the Blancpain Endurance Series, seeing the team has also scheduled an appointment, and this for the third consecutive time, in Le Mans. During the weekend of 16th and 17th June the Belgian ProSpeed Competition team will appear at the start of this world renowned race with a Porsche 911 GT3 RSR in the LM GTE Pro-Am category, with every ambition to clinch class victory. In order to prepare for this race ProSpeed Competition will be competing this weekend, with home drivers Marc Goossens and Maxime Soulet, in the 6 Hours of Le Castellet, the opening round of the European Le Mans Series, in short ELMS. The Belgian crew is one of the strongest in the class…
Practice makes perfect as the saying goes, which is the reason why ProSpeed Competition is back in action this coming weekend on the French Paul Ricard circuit, following some five months of inactivity in competition.
Rudi Penders (Team Principal):
“In anticipation of the biggest race in the world, there’s nothing better than a real competition as part and parcel of the preparations. Hence the reason for us to compete in this opening round of the ELMS, together with our regular drivers, namely Marc Goossens and Maxime Soulet. The team has given them clear-cut assignments, with as aim to be as fully prepared as ever possible for the Le Mans race, in just over two and a half months. Due to preparation for the test days of the Blancpain Endurance Series earlier this month we were unable to be present for the ELMS test days, also held on this same circuit, however this race offers a perfect alternative.”
Marc Goossens (Driver – Porsche 911 GT3 RSR #75 – LM GTE Pro-Am):
“Paul Ricard is a perfect venue to carry out tests, just look at the number of constructors that come to prepare for Le Mans, with test sessions lasting 24 hours or even more. The long Mistral straight and a number of fast bends make this the perfect track to prepare for Le Mans. In fact, apart from the official test days you cannot drive at Le Mans, and so for us the ELMS race this coming weekend is the ideal opportunity.”
Maxime Soulet (Driver – Porsche 911 GT3 RSR #75 – LM GTE Pro-Am):
“Our main aim is the preparation and that implies testing out all matter of things, at a high level and under real race conditions. We need to be spared from a crash at the start, as was the case last year.”
